It was a tough week for Celtic fans. They lost a legend when former player, manager and coach Tommy Burns passed away this past week. The man’s dedication to life was eulogized with great beauty across the media world. Burns was a guy who loved Celtic, but loved those his life could touch even more. As Sir Alex Ferguson reportedly said to Sir David Frost – "You won’t know Tommy Burns, but he is one of the kindest and most lovable men God ever put on Earth. Actually, you could call him a saint."
Days later they moved a step closer to another SPL title when Motherwell’s Chris Porter grabbed a second-half equalizer to leave Rangers three points behind Celtic with a game in hand.
If both clubs win out, it would come down to goal difference, an edge that tilts in favor of Celtic by seven goals right now.
Celtic finish their season on Thursday against Dundee United and a win would likely give Gordon Strachan his third title in a row at Celtic Park – something that hasn’t been done since the days of Jock Stein.
Imagine that, a week after Celtic lost a legend, they might be gaining another.
