As it turns out, goal difference wasn’t needed in the Scottish Premier League title race. Celtic won their third straight SPL title with a 1-0 win over Dundee United. The win didn’t matter as the Rangers finished off their title slide with a 2-0 loss to Aberdeen.
In the end, a crowded fixture list and a dip in form did in the Gers while the champions got hot at the right time of the year.
