The Old Firm derby scheduled for Wednesday has been postponed out of respect for Phil O’Donnell and his family.
O’Donnell spent the middle part of his career at Celtic Park and players and staff there requested that the match be postponed. Rangers officials, showing just as much humanity, easily agreed to the postponement.
It’s sad when horrible tragedies like this happen, but there is a warming of the heart when two clubs with the history that Celtic and Rangers have show the true bond in the football community.
Rest in peace Phil O’Donnell. And great move Celtic and Rangers.
